Although Quesada itself is new and modern, the nearby towns of Rojales and Formentera del Segura, are much older with many interesting places to visit, well worth a look are the cave houses at El Rodeo (Rojales), dug into the hillside during the 19th Century and now the location of a craft market, be sure to also visit the nearby Shell House a tribute to another man’s incredible patience. Another interesting place to visit is the Natural Park which includes the salt lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja, now a protected area the Parque Natural de La Mata y Torrevieja is an important area for bird life, there is also a lovely shaded picnic area.
