Telefonica

I currently have phone and Internet via satellite but am having issues with it. I understand that to get both these services through a landline that I firstly have to go to a telefonica office with my house rental contract and NIE papers to get the landline switched on . Please can anyone tell me where the nearest Telefonica office is please?

Andi,

Don't I first need to get my landline switched on? We have telephone connection points but the land line is not active?

Internet no. If you have any kind of pole on your roof ole will install Internet right now for €50 installation and from then onwards €10 euros a month as your a new customer.
With that they will fix a mini dish to the pole, that's what your paying €50 euros for along with the equipment.
For the phone I believe you will need a line of some sorts. I'm not to sure with Internet price from satilte round about.

We currently have phone and Internet through equipment on the roof but is very erratic which is why we want to have both through the landline so I need to ascertain where the nearest Telefonica office is?

Make sure you INSIST on one of there Special deals. We never got round to asking for this until about a month ago and our costs are about half now. Only expensive part now is making calls to mobiles, most other calls are Free.

Myra when we moved to our current house about 4 1/2 years ago we ordered a telephone line from telefonica . The points were there and the telegraph post was almost on our doorstep. We were promised a telephone within ten days. This did not happen so I rang them and they told me I would have to wait until September. We moved into our house in the March. We had already been a customer of telefonica since 2003 but this did not make any difference. We are now with Ole Communications and we pay less than 30 euros a month for our line rental, internet 24/7 and all our calls to England and Spain so, I think telefonic did us a favour. I did tell them that they should tell people the truth, what is the point of telling lies and, did they think all English People were stupid.

Myra, no promises but I think you can order it on line, try:
https://www.movistar.es/particulares/oferta-combinada/fusion/
If you have Google you can translate the Spanish to English, and register,if not go to any Movistar office as Telefonoca is now Movistar, good luck.

I obtained a land line connection from Telefonica to my apartment over the internet while I was in the UK. It was a very simple process

I do beleive the nearest telefonica/Movistar office is in guadamar on the left hand side as you are aproaching the town hall.

I have OLE. Whatever you do don't go to Telefonica, or Movistar as they call themselves now.

I did not have a phone line from Telefonica, but still had ADSL installed by a company called Jazztel from Valencia. I get speeds of 11-12Mb at a cost of 38 Euros a month.
The only downside is you have to do it all in Spanglish.
